Sibley Peteet Design Celebrates 23 Years

When Don Sibley and Rex Peteet decided to open their own design business on April 11, 1982, the two were inspired by dreams of doing great work for great clients. Sibley Peteet Design has come a long way in 23 years – from two guys working together in a cramped repurposed one-room office to 22 employees managed by the same two partners, in two cities – Dallas and Austin. And yes, the firm continues to fulfill that original dream.

The work has changed a lot. In the early days, much of the work was illustrative and whimsical – for clients who appreciated our rich imagination and bold use of color. Game manufacturers, publishers and paper companies were quick to hire our brand of design. Of course, then all of the work was for print and created without computers. Today, the Xacto knives are nearly forgotten, and new media is roughly half of the design work coming out of Sibley Peteet. Over the years, we’ve worked for just about every kind of business imaginable – from airlines to car companies, beer makers to chip makers. We’ve made our mark by meeting and exceeding our clients’ needs – everyday. The rest is history.
